Face Towards The Sun
The "Face Towards The Sun '' exhibition by Brian Connolly, captures the essence of Byron Bay while tuning into nature and exploring the multi-faceted aspects of self-exploration. As a former Byron resident, Connolly's emotional connection to this beautiful place is reflected in the colours, naturally flowing aesthetic, and the luminous strokes of magic captured in his paintings. While living in Byron Bay, Connolly became increasingly introspective and began to cultivate his inner garden. By channelling the flower within, he discovered the important process of wilting and blooming and the dance between light and dark. He realised that in order to face towards the sun, there needs to be moments of lying dormant like a seed underground.
By exploring the internal landscape of human emotion, the works showcased in "Face Towards the Sun" elicit the value of communing with nature and embracing the flow of life.
